We currently have a number of staff and volunteers on hand to provide guidance and support to users. This is funded through Urban II and the Community Fund.

We sign post to various organisations and agencies dependant upon the need of the person.

PARTNERSHIPS

Coalfield Partnership

Gives a local perspective within strategic regeneration forum, in how changes to their community can be made and how things can work better to bring quality of life to individuals and their community. The discussions and decisions made from this partnership are then feedback to the Coalfield Forum.

Voices

A partnership approach of some voluntary agencies and organisations within the City of Sunderland to enable the Voluntary Sector to have an equal voice in the future development of the City.

Healthy City Group West

This group consists of people from both voluntary and statutory agencies working together to improve health in the area. This is done by influencing mainstream services, helping to fund work that reduces health inequalities and encourages community participation and partnership.

New Beginnings

A partnership approach developed to respond to the issue of asylum and provide education, raise awareness of equal opportunities, address fears and concerns of the community and to provide support and guidance to asylum seekers/refugees (New Families).

Racecourse United

Consisting of community groups and local people working together in partnership for the benefit of their community, identifying and enabling changes to enhance the quality of people's lives within their community.

Life Long Learning

Houghton Racecourse Community Access Point co-ordinates and chairs the Coalfield Life Long Learning Partnership. This is a networking group related to establishing needs and barriers to accessing learning provision in the Coalfield area, by promoting, assisting and offering support in the development of life long learning throughout the City.

Urban II

This group was established to deliver a programme of regeneration in the Murton and Hetton area. To help in the identification, development and approval of projects with 3 priorities - Engaging Young People, Empowering the Coalfield Community and Building and Sustaining Economic Activity.

Connexions

Deliver outreach sessions in the Access Point aimed at 16-24 year olds gaining employment or training.

Job Linkage

We sign post people to Job Linkage when they are ready to seek employment as well as holding drop in sessions for information on jobs available.

City of Sunderland College

We have a franchising agreement with the college who pay us to deliver training courses. The college also operates outreach training.

Sure Start - Hetton and Houghton

Members of the Board of Directors and staff attend Sure Start Partnerships and sub groups.

City of Sunderland Community and Culture Department

Act as advisors to the project and HRCAP now has a Service Level Agreement through them.
